Confessions of a life escapist

* Machu Picchu photo is not mine.

Hi! I'm Raiza, 19, turning 20 in a couple of months. A fresh graduate from UP Diliman - Asian Institute of Tourism with flying colors. :D And now, I'm in search of a career that will complete me. Naturally, the next big step.

But before all that, let's backtrack a little bit.  It has always been a plan of mine to write a blog.  Yes, where I can freely say what I like and want.  The problem is, I don't know where I should start.  And then an idea came into my mind.  Why not my travels?  As a tourism student, we had subjects where we went to some of the most beautiful places in the country.  Some because I believe there are more.  And I won't stop till I see them all.  That's why to tell you so far of where I've been to, I decided to pursue
this blog entitled 'escape routes'.  And here's my confession.

A life escapist

If ever I were to pick the best job in the world, I would say travelling and writing.  Of course, provided that it's free or you get something out of it. :3 From the very start, I didn't know that this is the field that I will pursue.  Coming from a science high school concentrating mostly in science and math, this is not the field that I first envisioned for myself.  Never in a million years.  But at the end of the day, my feet wandered.  As well as my mind and heart.  I ended travelling to different places and loving it.  Of course, learning is still my first love. And outside the four corners of the classroom, I saw, felt, smelled, tasted and heard reality.  I'm learning and having fun at the same time.  I beg to disagree, but my fiction is real.  I encountered different and unique realities through my travels that I thought only existed in my imagination.

Escaping life, don't get me wrong, I'm doing this not because I hate it or I want it to end.
I LOVE AND EMBRACE LIFE.
I love how it makes me happy. I love how it makes me sad. Endless feelings ~ stress, fear, delight, love, etc.  Though sometimes, it's as if we want to live in our own version of it.  Deep in our hearts and minds, we imagine, dream and move into our own better versions.  Just like when we read books, we escape reality.  Travelling is my escape route.

Let me share my journey with you.  Let the escaping begin :)
